A Docsend link lands in your inbox and the first thing it asks for is your email. It looks like a login wall, but it is not one: you never need a Docsend or Dropbox account to view a shared document, and you do not need one to save it either.

What the email gate actually is

Docsend's email prompt is an analytics feature for the document owner. Whatever address you type is attached to your view in their dashboard. There is no password check and no account creation behind it. Use the email address the sender knows you by, so your view makes sense to them.

Saving the document without signing up
